Impressions from the project process
With a height of 220 m, the new office tower of the "Warsaw Spire" building ensemble will be the tallest office building in Warsaw after completion. Two office buildings flank the tower, each 55 m high.
The optimally adapted PERI climbing formwork solution for the core of the building has ensured a weekly cycle for the floors. The shell enclosing the RCS climbing protection panel is completely enclosed and has provided safe working conditions at all heights and in all weathers for the construction of the shell.
With the customized VARIO GT 24 girder formwork, the construction team achieved the required, high‑quality surfaces of partly elliptical core walls.
The RCS climbing protection panel is equipped with three working platforms that allow access to the slab stopend formwork and also provides sufficient working space for pre-stressing operations. The mobile climbing units lift the enclosure (rail guided) in 50 cm increments from floor to floor.
The proven SKYDECK system supports rapid and systematic forming of large slab areas. For the flanking office buildings, the aluminium panel slab formwork is supplemented with slab tables.
For all reworking on the building facades, PERI has provided PERI UP Rosett facade scaffolding. This scaffold system has also been designed for fast assembly and safe working conditions.
Warsaw Spire: Three structures form the new building complex in the Polish capital. The 220 m high office tower is very distinctive due to its special shape; the floors feature an elliptical ground plan which varies from floor to floor.

When choosing the right formwork partner, the key factor that clinched the decision was the fact PERI could show us that they had had special experience in the construction of high-rise buildings. As with previous projects, the PERI specialists constructively solved all technical issues together with our engineers on site. Also in this project, it confirmed once again that the know-how of the supplier, in particular for hydraulic climbing formwork, has a decisive influence on the successful completion of the project. Long before construction began, we developed an efficient and customized formwork solution together with the planners, contractor and formwork supplier. The experience of PERI has helped us to maintain the tight construction schedule.
