Impressions from the project process
The 600 m long, new satellite terminal at Munich airport is located in the centre of the airfield and encloses the apron tower and incorporates the existing baggage sorting centre. Construction is taking place during normal airport operations and presents an enormous challenge to all those involved in the project.
More than 4,500 MULTIPROP slab props carry the steel construction until, together with the hardened concrete, it is able to support independently. The up to 6.25 m extendable props only weigh 35 kg and can easily be moved by hand.
The PERI solution for the huge construction site includes a comprehensive package of services: the supply of large quantities of materials, flexible engineering, tailored logistical operations as well as on-site support through the PERI project manager. The complete package provides all parties involved with real added value – for the contractor as well as the scaffolders.
The PERI UP scaffolding construction reliably shields construction site activities from airport operations. At the same time, it serves as working scaffold for the facade contractors. Stair access and large-span bridging enhance the scaffold solution of the Weissenhorn experts.
The extremely flexible PERI UP modular scaffolding can be optimally adapted to suit the loads to be transferred thanks to its consistent 25 cm grid dimensions. The combination with other rentable system components from the comprehensive PERI product range ensures very cost-effective fulfillment of all requirements.
