The Project
Impressions from the project process
For the power plant construction in Eemshaven, the industrial scaffold system PERI UP has clearly demonstrated its flexibility and adaptability.
Working platforms and integrated access means for the welding and insulation operations on the two electric filters for the flue gas desulphurisation are based on the PERI UP Rosett Flex modular scaffolding system.
For the spatial scaffolding of the filter funnel, the metric grid system of the PERI UP scaffolding system which allows the bay widths to be divided as required is a particular advantage.
Also for the assembly and insulation of the 8 funnel-shaped inlet ducts, the PERI scaffold construction provides ideal working conditions.
The 75 cm working width can be adapted on the inside in 25 cm increments whilst, on the outside, integrated flights of stairs provide optimum accessibility to all scaffolding levels.
The scaffolding planning and assembly took into account the existing steel structure – allowing maximum adjustment to suit the structural circumstances.
The Eemshaven power plant (left in photo) plays an important role in the modernisation and guaranteeing the electricity supply in the Netherlands – in combination with the utilisation of wind and solar energy.

The collaboration with PERI is highly satisfactory for both Bilfinger as well as our client, and we have been able to meet all of the deadlines. For me, PERI UP stands for quality and ergonomics, not least due to the fact that the PERI UP scaffold construction could be optimally adapted to ensure safe execution of the sound-proofing work.
